## [claude-3-haiku](https://ailoot.ai/models/en/claude-3-haiku-20240307/)

Claude 3 Haiku is Anthropic’s model for responsive dialogue and analysis of supplied text and images. Use it for a support reply, a document summary or a focused visual question, with a clearly defined result and the source material needed to support it.

About the model

This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.

Claude 3 Haiku is part of Anthropic’s Claude 3 model family. The manufacturer describes it as a model for responsive enterprise workloads, including customer support and analysis of documents or visual material. Its vision capability lets a task combine written instructions with an image and request a textual interpretation.

#### Prepare a support response

Provide the customer’s message and the product or policy information needed to answer it. Ask for the request, the relevant policy point and a draft reply in the desired tone. Name the facts the response must preserve, such as the order identifier or the action already taken. A compact output gives the reviewer a clear basis for checking whether the reply addresses the actual question.

For a longer conversation, select the messages that explain the current issue. Ask for what the customer wants, what has already been tried and the remaining question. Keep the original message labels with the summary so the next person can find the source of a detail.

#### Read a document for a defined question

A document task can ask for the obligations in a supplied passage, the differences between two sections or the facts relevant to a particular decision. Label the material and state the requested output shape. For extraction, define the fields and the representation of values that are absent from the source.

A summary works best with a purpose: briefing a colleague, comparing proposals or preparing questions for a review. Name that purpose before asking for the result. Ask the model to keep quantities, parties and identifiers intact so the summary remains useful when returned to the source document.

#### Interpret supplied visual material

For an image, point to the region or object that matters. A screenshot task can request the readable message and the visible state of the interface. A document-image task can request a description of a named figure or extracted information from a legible region. Supply written context when it is needed to explain why the detail matters.

Claude 3 Haiku’s manufacturer positioning emphasizes many small tasks in responsive workflows. Keep each task focused on one result, then verify extracted fields or draft content against its source. The dated identifier on this card preserves the selected Claude 3 Haiku edition; properties of later Haiku generations should be considered separately.

Practical task

### Draft a policy-grounded support reply

Technical example in English

```
Draft a policy-grounded support reply
Write a concise reply to this customer: “Order R28 arrived yesterday with a cracked lid. Can you replace just the lid?” Policy: damaged components can be replaced after a photo and order number are supplied. The order number is already present. Ask only for the missing item and preserve the customer’s requested remedy.
```

#### Expected result

```
A polite customer-facing reply and a one-line internal note identifying the missing evidence.
```

#### Check the result

```
Check that the reply requests a photo without asking again for the order number or promising a shipment.
```
