## [Cohere: Command A+](https://ailoot.ai/models/en/cohere-command-a-plus/)

Command A+ is Cohere’s multimodal reasoning model for enterprise agents, with text and image input and text output in 48 languages. It combines citations, tool use and structured outputs with a 128,000-token context and a documented 64,000-token output ceiling.

About the model

This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.

Command A+ is Cohere’s May 2026 multimodal reasoning model for complex enterprise tasks. It combines text and image input with text output and supports 48 languages, including all official European Union languages. The manufacturer positions it for multilingual agents that analyse evidence, work through a problem and use tools supplied by an application. It is a separate edition from the earlier text-only Command A and the specialised Vision and Reasoning models.

#### Model properties and task size

Cohere describes a sparse mixture-of-experts architecture with 218 billion total parameters and 25 billion active parameters. Its published profile has a 128,000-token context and a maximum output of 64,000 tokens. The listed knowledge cutoff is April 1, 2025. Source material, the conversation and the generated result need to fit within the applicable request budget; provide current evidence or a suitable tool when the task depends on information beyond training knowledge.

#### Reasoning and multilingual work

The producer’s hybrid reasoning workflow can enable thinking before the final text response or disable it for direct answers. A thinking budget controls the intermediate process, while the response still needs room to communicate the result. Define the answer independently: a decision memo, a comparison, a translated explanation or a structured record. For a multilingual task, specify the output language and the proper names, field identifiers and quotations that must retain their original form.

An illustrative instruction is: “Compare these policy passages, explain the operational difference in the requested language and identify the source sentence supporting each conclusion.” This combines multilingual understanding with reasoning over the actual evidence rather than asking for an unsupported account of a policy.

#### Images and document evidence

Cohere’s image guide covers charts, diagrams, in-image tables, document recognition and image-grounded questions. Prepare readable pages and preserve headings, units and axis labels. When a detail is small, enlarge it without losing the surrounding context and use the documented image-detail choice appropriate to the task. The maker notes that visual performance can vary for non-Latin writing.

The documented image workflow accepts PNG, JPEG, WEBP and non-animated GIF, with up to 20 images or 20 MB total per request, whichever limit is reached first. These are producer workflow bounds. For extraction, request the specific fields and a source image reference; for chart analysis, ask for visible values separately from interpretation. The model returns text, so generating or editing an image is a different output task.

#### Citations, tools and structured results

Command A+ lists citations, tool use, structured outputs and safety modes among its capabilities. Give documents meaningful identifiers and supply tool functions with descriptions and argument schemas. The model can select an operation, the application executes it and returns the result, and the following answer can use that evidence. A retrieval source, a model’s proposed action and an executed result should remain distinguishable in the task record.

For a structured result, define each field and the expected treatment of missing data. Review the content against its sources even when the format is valid. A useful final deliverable contains the requested answer, the evidence supporting it and any unresolved information that affects the conclusion. This keeps the model’s multimodal and reasoning capabilities tied to a concrete enterprise task without assigning the earlier Command A profile to this edition.

Practical task

### Reconcile multilingual delivery notes

Technical example in English

```
Reconcile multilingual delivery notes
Compare these delivery notes: EN-1: 'Send eight replacement handles; keep order A17 open until they arrive.' FR-1: 'Envoyer huit poignees de remplacement; ne pas fermer la commande A17 avant leur reception.' Write an English operations handoff with quantity, item, order ID and closure condition. State whether the two supplied notes disagree.
```

#### Expected result

```
An English handoff with four operational fields and an evidence-based agreement check.
```

#### Check the result

```
Keep A17 unchanged and preserve the condition that arrival precedes closure.
```
