## [DeepSeek VL2](https://ailoot.ai/models/en/deepseek-ai-deepseek-vl2/)

DeepSeek VL2 is a vision-language model for visual questions, OCR, documents, tables, charts and grounding. The full edition is built on DeepSeekMoE-27B with 4.5B activated parameters; this hosted profile lists a 4,000-token context for a focused image-and-text task.

About the model

This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.

DeepSeek VL2 is the full vision-language edition in the DeepSeek VL2 series. The manufacturer describes visual question answering, optical character recognition, document, table and chart understanding, and visual grounding. The full edition is built on DeepSeekMoE-27B and has 4.5 billion activated parameters; the series also contains separately named Tiny and Small editions.

#### Connect a visual question with a labeled source

Provide a legible image and identify the region or object that matters. A document task can request the readable information in a named field. A chart task can ask for the visible trend and the labels or values that support it. Preserve the image or page identifier with the observations so a reviewer can return to the original material.

For visual grounding, describe the object to locate and the result required by the task. Keep the request specific enough to compare the answer with the image. Supply written context when it explains why a detail matters.

#### Compare a bounded image collection

Label the images and name the features to compare. Ask for one observation per source, retaining the label with extracted information. Check readable text and quantities against the originals before using them in another operation.

The manufacturer’s processor uses different image preparation depending on the number of images: dynamic tiling for up to two and direct 384×384 padding for three or more. These are details of the maker’s published processing recipe. A hosted workflow should use the image preparation and limits of its actual serving interface.

#### Keep the full edition and context distinct

The named hosted profile lists a context length of 4,000 tokens. Prepare a focused visual question and the relevant written context, leaving room for the answer. Select the image regions and text needed by the task rather than add unrelated material.

Keep the full VL2 identifier with the prompt and result. The repository’s sample inference code uses the separately named Small edition, so sample settings should remain examples rather than hard limits or execution evidence for this full hosted profile.

Practical task

### Read a transcribed stock table

Technical example in English

```
Read a transcribed stock table
Use this text transcription of a stock table: row R1, bolts, opening 30, issued 8, closing 22; row R2, washers, opening 40, issued 15, closing 30. Identify any arithmetic inconsistency. Return the row ID, calculation and a question for the clerk. Do not infer details from an unseen image.
```

#### Expected result

```
A row-linked consistency finding with explicit arithmetic and one clarification request.
```

#### Check the result

```
Compare opening minus issued with closing for each row; do not silently correct the source transcription.
```
