About the model

This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.

#### K3 with a fixed window size

`k3-256k` is a Kimi K3 variant with **262,144 tokens** of context. It retains K3's focus: long engineering tasks, code and tool work, and analysis of visual material. The window size is fixed for this variant, so requirements, project material and work history should fit within one shared capacity.

#### Code and visual feedback

The model is intended for sequential development involving repository reading, edits and use of execution results. The manufacturer describes K3 in tasks optimizing computational code, creating compilers and working with large projects. Visual material can help connect implementation to what is visible on screen.

Image input is confirmed for `k3-256k`. This card accepts text and images, and the model returns text. Terminal, file-reading and program-execution tools must be connected by the application; their results can be used to continue the conversation.

#### Research work

K3 connects analysis of literature and data with programming. Through tools, it can participate in implementing calculations, checking formulas and preparing interactive analytical material. This is useful in a task where a conclusion needs to be connected to a calculation and its derivation shown.

#### Reasoning and architecture

The levels `low`, `high` and `max` are supported; the manufacturer's current configuration specifies `high` as the default for `k3-256k`. With tools, the model uses the history of previous responses and reasoning.

K3's architecture contains **2.8 trillion parameters** in total and approximately **104 billion active**. Kimi Delta Attention and Attention Residuals are used for long context, and MoonViT-V2 for visual input. This card specifically represents the variant with a 262,144-token window.

#### Boundaries of a long session

K3 is sensitive to the integrity of reasoning history. The manufacturer warns that supplying this history incompletely or switching to K3 midway through work with another model may destabilize responses. In complex tasks, it can also be overly proactive: when a goal is ambiguous, it may choose an action independently. Permitted actions and stopping conditions therefore need to be specified explicitly for tool use.

Practical task

### Preserve evaluation order in a compiler rewrite

Technical example in English

```
Preserve evaluation order in a compiler rewrite
A compiler optimizer replaces f() * 0 with 0. In this language, function calls may log messages or raise errors, and left-to-right evaluation is observable. Explain why the rewrite is unsafe, give the condition under which it would be valid and propose two regression tests. Return a focused optimization rule rather than a whole compiler design.
```

#### Expected result

```
A concise diagnosis, a guarded rewrite rule and two tests covering observable effects.
```

#### Check the result

```
The rule does not discard a call unless its lack of observable effects is established.
```

Keep every complete returned response, file and content part.

Keep all content blocks, thinking signatures and actual tool-use IDs. Assemble all SSE block deltas; a first text block is not the complete output.

##### Keep all completed results

Keep every complete returned response, file and content part.

Keep all content blocks, thinking signatures and actual tool-use IDs. Assemble all SSE block deltas; a first text block is not the complete output.

##### If the original response needs checking

Keep request/response IDs and headers. No generic text job retrieval URL is supplied.

##### Keep all completed results

Keep every complete returned response, file and content part.

Keep every choice and its content/tool calls/reasoning. In SSE assemble deltas by choice/tool index, retain the final finish reason and usage.

##### If the original response needs checking

Keep request/response IDs and headers. No generic text job retrieval URL is supplied.
