About the model

This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.

#### Code completion and everyday development

Under the `kimi-for-coding` identifier, the manufacturer currently specifies Kimi K2.8 Preview. It is intended for code completion, ordinary development tasks and sequential tool use. The model can participate in an engineering dialogue: receiving requirements, producing code and continuing a task from new information.

For K2.8 Preview, the manufacturer highlights more economical reasoning when solving engineering tasks. The practical choice concerns analytical depth: a short program completion and a complex action sequence may require different amounts of reasoning.

#### Controllable depth

The levels `low`, `high` and `max` are available, with `max` as the default. The model also provides operation without reasoning. With reasoning enabled, the selected level determines task-processing depth, while the final result remains text.

#### Context and material

K2.8 Preview's declared context reaches **1,048,576 tokens**. This allows work with a long history and extensive material; the available capacity for a specific request needs to be considered according to this card's limit.

With the manufacturer, K2.8 Preview understands text, images and video; the available input of this Ailoot card is text and images. An image can be combined with a task instruction; the main response is text. Actions on a project, information search and file saving belong to connected tools.

K2.8 Preview is a preview model version. Purpose, context and reasoning modes are confirmed for this identifier; architecture parameters of other Kimi models do not apply to it.

Practical task

### Complete a stable deduplication function

Technical example in English

```
Complete a stable deduplication function
Implement unique_by_id(records) in Python. Each record is a dictionary with an id key. Keep the first record for each id, preserve original order, and do not mutate the list or dictionaries. Provide tests with duplicate ids, an empty list and two different records sharing an id. Use the standard library only.
```

#### Expected result

```
The complete function and three small tests demonstrating stable first-occurrence deduplication.
```

#### Check the result

```
The later record with a repeated id never replaces the first, and input objects are not modified.
```

##### Keep all completed results

Keep every complete returned response, file and content part.

Keep every choice and its content/tool calls/reasoning. In SSE assemble deltas by choice/tool index, retain the final finish reason and usage.

##### If the original response needs checking

Keep request/response IDs and headers. No generic text job retrieval URL is supplied.
