## [Llama 3.2 11B Vision Instruct](https://ailoot.ai/models/en/meta-llama-3-2-11b-vision-instruct/)

Llama 3.2 Vision 11B Instruct is a Meta model for image questions, scene descriptions and analysis of text together with document layout.

- [**Ailoot · OpenAI Chat** `POST /v1/chat/completions` `meta/llama-3.2-11b-vision-instruct`](https://ailoot.ai/models/en/meta-llama-3-2-11b-vision-instruct/#method-0)

About the model

This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.

#### A language model with a visual adapter

Llama 3.2 Vision 11B Instruct receives text and images and expresses its result as text. Its foundation is the Llama 3.1 language model; a separately trained visual adapter passes image representations to it through cross-attention. The Instruct version is tuned for following instructions and conversation.

The model has approximately 10.6 billion parameters, commonly designated as 11B. Context is 128 thousand tokens. Pretraining covers image-text pairs; knowledge in the training data is limited to December 2023.

#### Working with visual information

The model recognizes visible objects, reasons about a scene and answers questions about an image. For documents, it considers not just the text read but also the arrangement of elements. Provided tasks include:

- Answering questions about an image and its details.
- Analyzing a document page with attention to its text and layout.
- Text descriptions of a scene and the depicted objects.
- Matching an image to a description.
- Connecting a verbal instruction to an object or region in an image.

From a chart, the model can help identify which month had the highest sales; from a map, it can answer a question about a route. In these tasks, the question concerns a specific visual detail. Extracted information becomes a text answer, not a separate image.

#### Languages and limitations

English, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Hindi, Spanish and Thai are listed for text tasks. English is officially supported for combining an image with text. Broader language training does not mean that visual tasks are equally supported in every language.

The model creates answers, not images. Visual capability requires a method with an appropriate input format; the Vision name alone does not determine which data is accepted.

Practical task

### Explain transcribed chart values

Technical example in English

```
Explain transcribed chart values
Use these transcribed chart values: January sales 18 units, February 25, March 21. The vertical axis is units sold. Identify the highest month, describe the month-to-month changes and write a two-sentence caption. Use only the transcribed data; do not infer causes, revenue or details about chart appearance.
```

#### Expected result

```
A highest-month statement, the two numerical changes and a two-sentence data caption.
```

#### Check the result

```
Check the two differences against 25−18 and 21−25 and ensure no visual feature or causal explanation is invented.
```
