About the model

This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.

MiniMax M2 is MiniMax’s language model for end-to-end coding and agent workflows. It has 230 billion total parameters with ten billion activated parameters. Text input produces text output. The published model metadata lists reasoning, function tools and structured outputs, with a catalogue context window of 204,800 tokens.

#### A coding task with a clear result

Provide the relevant implementation, observed behavior and result needed after the change. Preserve the failing input and actual error output when they determine the diagnosis. A feature brief can identify the affected interfaces and the behavior that must remain correct while the change is made.

Ask for a concrete artifact: a focused patch, a source-based diagnosis or the next check that will settle an open question. Keep file locations and related contracts with the result so the proposed work can be inspected in the intended part of the application.

#### Reasoning and tool observations

Define the operations available to the surrounding application. When the selected interface exposes function tools, the model can propose a tool call and use the returned observation as evidence for the next step. Retain actual command, retrieval or file results rather than treating the proposed operation as completed work.

For a structured result, specify the fields, types and treatment of missing information. Validate both the returned shape and its substantive values. A planning record or extracted fact should stay connected to the source evidence that gives it meaning.

#### Continue from the established state

Plan around the interface’s actual context and output allowance, reserving room for the response. Keep completed decisions, current observations and remaining questions visible in a longer task. A useful M2 artifact joins the result with the behavior it addresses and the validation needed before the next development or application step.

Practical task

### Preserve omitted fields in an update

Technical example in English

```
Preserve omitted fields in an update
A profile update handler uses name = body.get('name') and email = body.get('email'), then writes both fields. A request containing only name erases the stored email. Propose a minimal Python update-building function that changes only supplied fields and preserves explicit null values. Include tests distinguishing an omitted email from an email set to null.
```

#### Expected result

```
A focused partial-update function and two tests showing omission and explicit-null behavior.
```

#### Check the result

```
The tests demonstrate that absent and present-with-null fields produce different update records.
```

Keep every complete returned response, file and content part.

Keep all content blocks, thinking signatures and actual tool-use IDs. Assemble all SSE block deltas; a first text block is not the complete output.

##### If the original response needs checking

Keep request/response IDs and headers. No generic text job retrieval URL is supplied.
