About the model

This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.

Kimi K2.7 Code is Moonshot AI’s coding-focused model in the Kimi K2 family. It uses a multimodal mixture-of-experts architecture, with 32 billion active parameters out of roughly one trillion total. Text and image inputs support a text response. Its published profile targets extended coding, task decomposition and multi-turn dialogue.

#### Keep the programming objective explicit

Describe the behavior to deliver and provide the source, constraints and observations that determine the change. A substantial task can identify the relevant components and the order in which their behavior needs to be established. Ask for concrete intermediate artifacts, such as a focused patch or a diagnosis tied to the actual error, while keeping the final outcome visible.

For a visual development task, label the screenshot or reference image and state which layout, control or state matters. Pair visible evidence with the code or requirements it concerns. The model returns text, such as an explanation or implementation proposal; an attached tool environment performs the actual file changes and checks.

#### Thinking across multiple turns

The profile always operates in thinking mode and preserves full reasoning content across multi-turn conversations. Keep the prior decisions and relevant observations in the continuing workflow so a later step can build on them. When the task changes direction, state the new requirement and the evidence that caused the change.

The context window is 262,144 tokens. Organize long material into named source sections, completed work and open questions, leaving room for the next result. Exact source identifiers help connect a conclusion to the code, document or image on which it depends.

#### Tools and structured artifacts

The published hosting contract supports function calling and structured outputs through a JSON schema. Define the operations or result fields around the actual task, and validate returned values against their sources. Tool observations should retain their relationship to the operation that produced them, especially when several steps contribute to the same conclusion.

A useful completed coding task leaves the change, its intended behavior and the actual validation evidence together. For a proposal that has not yet been applied, preserve the proposed patch and the steps that would verify it. This keeps a multi-turn programming workflow connected to its concrete artifacts.

Practical task

### Fix an async error boundary

Technical example in English

```
Fix an async error boundary
Review this JavaScript function: 'async function load() { try { return fetchData(); } catch (e) { return []; } }'. Requirement: a rejected fetchData promise must produce an empty list. Propose the smallest patch and tests for a resolved value and a rejected promise. Explain why the current catch may not handle the rejection. Do not add a library.
```

#### Expected result

```
A corrected async function and two test sketches with their expected results.
```

#### Check the result

```
The rejected promise is observed within the try block, while the resolved value passes through unchanged.
```
