## [OpenAI: GPT Audio Mini](https://ailoot.ai/models/en/openai-gpt-audio-mini/)

The Mini edition of OpenAI’s GPT-Audio family accepts text and audio and returns text or spoken output. Use recorded questions, written rules and relevant context to develop a reply or a focused conversational follow-up.

About the model

This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.

GPT-Audio Mini is the Mini edition of OpenAI’s GPT-Audio family for conversational requests with text and sound. It accepts text and audio and produces text or audio through Chat Completions. The model keeps the audio-chat role while retaining its own edition identity, separate from GPT-Audio and from continuous live-session models.

A useful application is a spoken reference question with a bounded answer. Supply the recording and the information the response should rely on, then define the goal of the exchange. An illustrative request is to explain one part of a procedure or ask for a fact that the recording does not establish. You can choose a written result when the answer needs to be inspected closely, or spoken output when the user will listen to the reply.

For a dialogue exercise, specify the role, subject and expected length of a turn. Include the significant earlier messages so the next reply remains connected to what has already been discussed. For a support conversation, provide the applicable rules and any facts established before the recording. Distinguish information supplied by the user from reference material added by the application, and state what the final reply should accomplish.

The producer’s GPT-Audio Mini specification gives a 128,000-token context window, a maximum output of 16,384 tokens and a knowledge cutoff of October 1, 2023. It documents function calling and prompt caching. The model’s method is bounded audio-capable Chat Completions; the characteristics of a separate Realtime or continuous voice session do not define this edition’s request flow.

Function calling lets the model request an operation from the application’s described tools. The application performs the action and returns its actual result for a follow-up. For example, a lookup can supply a reference fact that the reply needs. Keep that returned information distinct from the proposed operation itself so that the next response is based on a result actually available to the conversation.

Prepare a recording that captures the relevant speech clearly, and use a written instruction to supply the task context, required facts, tone and response length. State whether the useful artifact is a short spoken explanation, a written reply or a question that resolves an uncertainty. In a repeated workflow, keep the rules consistent while changing the request-specific material. Review the result against those rules and the reference text before carrying its significant facts into the next turn.

Practical task

### Practise a short reception dialogue

Technical example in English

```
Practise a short reception dialogue
Play the receptionist in an English practice dialogue. Guest: 'I have a reservation, but I will arrive after midnight.' Hotel rule: late arrivals need the guest's surname and arrival estimate; never request payment-card details in chat. Write the receptionist's next two short lines in friendly, simple English and leave the guest's answer open.
```

#### Expected result

```
Two short receptionist lines asking for surname and estimated arrival, with no invented guest reply.
```

#### Check the result

```
The dialogue follows the hotel rule, omits card requests and does not assert that check-in has been arranged.
```
