## [OpenAI: GPT Audio](https://ailoot.ai/models/en/openai-gpt-audio/)

An OpenAI audio-chat model that accepts text and audio and returns text or spoken output. Use a recorded question together with written instructions and reference material to develop a response connected to the conversation.

- [**Ailoot Ultra · OpenAI Chat** `POST /v1/chat/completions` `openai/gpt-audio`](https://ailoot.ai/models/en/openai-gpt-audio/#method-0)
- [**Ailoot Ultra · Anthropic Messages** `POST /v1/messages` `openai/gpt-audio`](https://ailoot.ai/models/en/openai-gpt-audio/#method-1)

About the model

This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.

GPT-Audio is OpenAI’s model for audio input and output through the Chat Completions interface. It accepts text and audio and produces text or audio. This makes it suitable for a bounded conversational request: a user supplies a spoken question, written context or both, and the model develops the requested reply in the chosen form.

An illustrative application is a voice-based information assistant. Provide the recorded question together with the reference material the answer should use. Define the purpose of the conversation and the facts the reply must preserve. You can request a short explanation of a procedure, a clarifying question about missing information or a response that connects the spoken request to the supplied written context.

For an educational conversation, specify the subject and the level of explanation. Ask for a spoken reply of a useful length, or a written explanation when the reader needs to inspect terms or steps closely. For a support interaction, supply the relevant rules and the information already established in the conversation. The instruction should identify the desired next result rather than relying on the recording to contain every necessary condition.

OpenAI lists a 128,000-token context window, a maximum output of 16,384 tokens and a knowledge cutoff of October 1, 2023 for GPT-Audio. The producer documents streaming and function calling. These are the specifications of the audio-chat model; the conversational request format is distinct from a dedicated transcription or speech-generation workflow. The application chooses the input and output needed for its task and manages the conversation’s messages.

Function calling can connect the dialogue with an application operation. Describe the available action and its arguments, then return the actual result after the application executes it. For example, a reference lookup can supply the information needed for the spoken response. A tool request is a proposed operation, while the information returned by the tool is evidence the model can use in a follow-up.

Prepare audio that captures the relevant speech clearly and provide the written context that the speaker does not state. Specify the tone, length and required points of the reply. Preserve the significant earlier messages when continuing the conversation, and identify whether the final artifact should be a concise spoken answer, a fuller written explanation or a question to resolve missing information. Reviewing the response against the supplied material keeps the conversation connected to the user’s actual task.

Practical task

### Write a conversational clarification

Technical example in English

```
Write a conversational clarification
Write a brief conversational reply for a delivery assistant. Customer: “Can you bring it tomorrow morning?” Reference: tomorrow offers 09:00–12:00 and 12:00–15:00 windows, but no delivery address is on record. Ask for the missing information, mention the morning window and avoid confirming a booking. Return the reply as written text.
```

#### Expected result

```
A short written dialogue turn that names the morning window and requests the delivery address.
```

#### Check the result

```
Check that the reply does not claim a slot is booked or invent an address.
```
