About the model

This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.

Laguna XS 2.1 is Poolside’s coding-agent model in the 33B-A3B category. It is a distinct edition following Laguna XS.2. Its published profile accepts text and produces text, with reasoning and function-tool controls for an application that carries out programming work.

#### Prepare the repository task

Give the model the user-visible behavior to deliver, the relevant source and the constraints around the change. An error report can include the failing input, command output and expected result. A feature request can identify the interface it affects and the existing behavior that must remain correct. These details make a proposed patch easier to assess than a broad instruction to improve the project.

For a review, name the concern to inspect: a failure path, data transformation or interaction between components. Keep file names and source locations with the observations so the recommendation can be applied to the intended code. Ask for a concrete result, such as a focused patch, a diagnosis supported by the supplied output or the next check that would distinguish two possible causes.

#### Tool observations carry the work forward

The published hosting profile includes tools and reasoning controls. In an agent environment, the model can propose an operation and use the returned result as evidence for the next step. Preserve actual command or test output, and distinguish it from a proposed command. The surrounding application executes the operation and records its outcome.

#### Context and the final artifact

The profile lists a 262,144-token context window and up to 32,768 completion tokens. Keep the code and observations that determine the task in the working context while leaving room for the answer. Preserve completed decisions in a compact form so later turns continue from the established state.

A useful coding artifact contains the change or recommendation, the behavior it addresses and the evidence needed to assess it. Inspect an applied patch and its actual validation result before carrying the work into a later development step.

Practical task

### Diagnose a dropped zero-valued option

Technical example in English

```
Diagnose a dropped zero-valued option
A configuration merge uses if incoming.get(key): result[key] = incoming[key]. It drops a valid timeout of 0 and a valid enabled value of False. Propose a minimal correction that accepts supplied falsy values but ignores missing keys. Include regression cases for zero, False, an empty string and an absent key, stating the intended empty-string behavior.
```

#### Expected result

```
A focused merge-condition patch and four regression cases with explicit missing-versus-present semantics.
```

#### Check the result

```
Zero and False are retained, while an absent key does not overwrite the existing value.
```
