## [Qwen2.5-Coder-14B](https://ailoot.ai/models/en/qwen2-5-coder-14b-instruct/)

Qwen2.5-Coder-14B-Instruct is a 14.7-billion-parameter programming model for generating, explaining and repairing code. Its instruction-tuned design supports conversational tasks; the documented 131,072-token context requires long-context configuration beyond the shipped 32,768-token setting.

- [**Ailoot Ultra · OpenAI Chat** `POST /v1/chat/completions` `qwen2.5-coder-14b-instruct`](https://ailoot.ai/models/en/qwen2-5-coder-14b-instruct/#method-0)
- [**Ailoot Ultra · Anthropic Messages** `POST /v1/messages` `qwen2.5-coder-14b-instruct`](https://ailoot.ai/models/en/qwen2-5-coder-14b-instruct/#method-1)

About the model

This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.

Qwen2.5-Coder-14B-Instruct is the instruction-tuned 14B edition of Qwen’s code-focused model family. It takes written instructions and source code and returns text, including implementations, explanations and proposed fixes. Its main capabilities are code generation, code reasoning and code repair, with a foundation in mathematics and general language tasks.

#### Generate code from a concrete requirement

Give the model the programming language, required behavior and surrounding interfaces. A focused request might ask for a parsing function that accepts specified inputs and preserves an existing return format. Include edge cases and identify the names or dependencies that must stay intact. The result can be a function or a small patch with an explanation of how it meets the requirement.

The manufacturer’s quickstart demonstrates a conversation followed by generated code. Instruct is the edition aligned for this form of interaction. A follow-up can refine the same task: change an input condition, explain one branch or adapt the implementation to an existing interface. Save and run the resulting code in the application’s development environment to check the requested behavior.

#### Explain behavior and propose a repair

For code reasoning, supply the relevant excerpt and ask about a specific relationship: how data moves between functions, which condition changes the output or why a value reaches an unexpected state. For repair, pair the code with the observed error, an input that triggers it and the intended result. Request the correction separately from the explanation so each can be reviewed against the original behavior.

The family’s training material includes source code, text paired with code and synthetic material. Its published training scale is 5.5 trillion tokens. This is background for the programming specialization; it does not establish that a proposed implementation has been executed or that it passes your project’s checks.

#### Work with the documented context

The exact model card specifies 131,072 tokens of full context. The shipped configuration is set to 32,768 tokens; longer inputs require the described YaRN configuration in a supporting runtime. The manufacturer notes that static scaling can affect shorter inputs and recommends enabling it when long-context processing is needed. These are model deployment conditions, so the full context figure does not by itself establish the limit of a particular API interface.

#### The exact 14B instruction edition

This model has 14.7 billion parameters, including 13.1 billion non-embedding parameters, and 48 layers. It uses grouped-query attention with 40 query heads and eight key/value heads. Retain the 14B-Instruct identity when choosing it for a task: the Base edition and larger members of the family have separate specifications. A useful finished artifact is the proposed code, its explanation and the cases required to verify it.

Practical task

### Implement a strict inventory-line parser

Technical example in English

```
Implement a strict inventory-line parser
Write a Python function parse_line(text) for inventory lines formatted SKU|quantity. Trim surrounding spaces on both fields, reject an empty SKU, and require quantity to be a nonnegative integer. Return a tuple of SKU and quantity; raise ValueError for invalid input. Include tests for a valid line, zero quantity, an empty SKU and a negative quantity.
```

#### Expected result

```
A complete parser and four concrete tests preserving the specified tuple return format.
```

#### Check the result

```
Zero is accepted, a negative quantity is rejected, and invalid records raise ValueError rather than silently changing data.
```

##### Keep all completed results

Keep every complete returned response, file and content part.

Keep all content blocks, thinking signatures and actual tool-use IDs. Assemble all SSE block deltas; a first text block is not the complete output.

##### If the original response needs checking

Keep request/response IDs and headers. No generic text job retrieval URL is supplied.
