## [Tencent: Hy3 preview](https://ailoot.ai/models/en/tencent-hy3-preview/)

Tencent’s Hy3 preview is a 295B MoE text model with 21B active parameters and a 256K context. It targets STEM reasoning, context learning, instructions, coding and agents, with direct-response and thinking choices in the producer’s example.

About the model

This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.

Hy3 preview is Tencent Hy’s first Hy3 model trained on its rebuilt infrastructure. The producer specifies a mixture-of-experts architecture with 295B total parameters, 21B active parameters and a 3.8B multi-token-prediction layer. The model takes written prompts and conversation and generates text for reasoning, coding and instruction-based tasks.

The published backbone has 80 layers, grouped-query attention with 64 query heads and eight key/value heads, and 192 experts with eight activated per token. Its context window is 256K. These specifications belong to the preview edition, while the later Hy3 release changes post-training and product behavior rather than being the same named model.

The producer’s highlights begin with STEM and reasoning. For an analytical problem, provide the premises, the observations and the form of the answer. Ask for the conclusion with the steps needed to assess it. A code task should include the current implementation, the expected behavior and the actual failure information, so a proposed change addresses a defined problem.

Context learning and instruction following are also central to this release. Prepare long material with the rules the model must use and the sections relevant to the question. Request findings tied to the source and keep important constraints visible over follow-up turns. This helps distinguish a correct application of the supplied context from an answer based on an unstated assumption.

For a coding or search-agent workflow, the application provides the tools and returns their results. The model proposes the next interaction and uses the resulting observations for a further step. A useful final artifact identifies the proposed change or research finding and the evidence that still needs to be checked before the application uses it.

The manufacturer’s example lists no\_think as the default direct-response choice, alongside low and high; its explanatory guidance recommends high for complex reasoning. Sampling guidance uses temperature 0.9 and top-p 1.0. Those are producer settings rather than a guarantee about optional controls in a particular integration. The separately named pretrained base, instruct preview and converted artifacts retain their own identities.

Practical task

### Calculate a two-stage mixture

Technical example in English

```
Calculate a two-stage mixture
A tank contains 40 liters of a 10% salt solution. Remove 10 liters of well-mixed solution, then add 10 liters of pure water. Calculate the final salt concentration. Show salt and total volume after each stage and state the uniform-mixing assumption. Finish with the concentration as a percentage rather than an unlabeled decimal.
```

#### Expected result

```
A two-stage mass-balance table and a final percentage with the mixing assumption stated.
```

#### Check the result

```
The removal subtracts salt in the original concentration, while adding pure water changes volume but not salt mass.
```

##### Keep all completed results

Keep every complete returned response, file and content part.

Keep all content blocks, thinking signatures and actual tool-use IDs. Assemble all SSE block deltas; a first text block is not the complete output.

##### If the original response needs checking

Keep request/response IDs and headers. No generic text job retrieval URL is supplied.
