About the model
This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.
Doubao 1.5 Lite is the lightweight language model in ByteDance’s Doubao 1.5 family. Its announcement covers general understanding, reasoning, mathematics and knowledge-based questions. It works with text instructions and returns text, making it a useful candidate for focused steps inside a conversational assistant or a document-processing workflow.
The Lite role. The manufacturer distinguishes Lite from the general Pro model as the lighter member of the family. Build a request around a specific transformation: decide which supplied category fits a message, pull named facts out of a note or rewrite a paragraph for a particular reader. For a support triage step, provide the permitted categories and short definitions, then ask for the chosen category, the words supporting that choice and the information the next person needs. The output can be a compact record that a reviewer can inspect against the original message.
Reasoning and mathematical work. State the complete problem, define the variables and keep units next to values. Ask for the result and the steps needed to check it. In a practical scheduling or inventory question, distinguish given quantities from quantities that must be derived; request an explicit list of assumptions if the wording admits more than one interpretation. Use an independent calculation to confirm a numerical answer before allowing it to determine an operational action.
For text preparation, give the source, audience and required tone together. A message-editing request can specify that dates, names and product terms must remain unchanged while the phrasing becomes clearer. A meeting-note request can ask for decisions, actions, owners and unresolved questions, using an empty field when the source supplies no owner. An example of the finished record helps communicate the format without requiring a long explanation in every answer.
For a knowledge question, include the relevant reference passage whenever the answer depends on your own rules or recent information. Ask for a short answer supported by the passage and a separate note for an unresolved detail. Keep classification, extraction and drafting as clearly stated stages when a task needs all three. This lets you see whether an error came from reading the message, selecting the category or composing the response, and makes a follow-up correction precise.
Practical task
Extract meeting action owners
Technical example in English
Extract meeting action owners
Turn this note into an action list: 'Lena will send the revised quote by Thursday. We agreed to keep the current packaging. Someone still needs to confirm the pickup date. Omar will check carton dimensions; no deadline was set.' Return action, owner and deadline fields, followed by the decision. Use 'not specified' for missing details.Expected result
An action table with owner and deadline columns plus one separately listed decision.Check the result
Check that the pickup owner and Omar's deadline remain unspecified.Ailoot Ultra · OpenAI Chat POST /v1/chat/completions Doubao-1.5-lite-32k
