OpenAI: GPT-6 Luna

GPT-6 Luna is designed for regular high-volume tasks. Accepts text and images and supports a non-reasoning mode and several reasoning depth levels.

About the model

This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.

A large flow of tasks with a clear goal

GPT-6 Luna is an OpenAI model for focused tasks performed in large numbers. The manufacturer positions it as the family's option for efficiently processing such a flow. The model accepts text and images, produces text and supports controllable reasoning depth.

Input can contain instructions and working material, and the result an ordinary answer or an object with a specified structure. Streaming allows text to be received incrementally. A result schema is useful when the next step expects particular fields and data types.

Choosing effort and operating mode

none, low, medium, high, xhigh and max are supported, with medium as the default. none is provided for processing without reasoning. Effort can be changed to suit a particular task, with final-text length specified separately.

With the manufacturer, ordinary and extended execution modes are selected separately from reasoning depth. Ordinary mode is the default. Extended mode is intended for complex tasks that can be allocated additional time and more tokens. Mode determines the processing approach, while effort controls reasoning within it. This choice is described for Responses and requires application support; it is not considered enabled in every Ailoot method.

Responses is used for work with tools and reasoning. In Chat Completions, function calling is allowed only at none. Identical function names therefore do not mean an identical way of using them across every format.

Context and output

OpenAI specifies a context window of 1,050,000 tokens, an input limit of 922,000 and an output limit of 128,000 tokens. The knowledge snapshot is May 18, 2026. Large context holds material and history, while the output limit separately constrains formation of the result.

Images are inputs: the model analyzes visual material and answers as text. Internal reasoning is included in the output budget; the maximum permitted output does not guarantee an equally long visible answer. New information can be supplied in the request or obtained through a provided connected tool.

Information and actions through connected tools

The manufacturer's card includes function calling, web and file search, code and command execution, file changes, computer interface work and tool search. The model selects an action from the supplied set and uses returned information to continue the response.

With appropriate connections, the manufacturer also provides a separate image-generation tool, work with skills and external tools through MCP. The model's direct response remains text; a separate tool creates the image-generation result. Its availability with the manufacturer does not mean these capabilities are connected in every Ailoot method.

The available set is determined by the method and application. A custom function is executed by the application: the model produces arguments and then receives the result. A structured response defines the data's form, while information correctness remains a separate question.

A repeated input prefix supports caching. Unchanged instructions and material at the start of a request can be reused; new conditions need to be supplied in the current request.

Practical task

Normalize a simple order note

Technical example in English

Normalize a simple order note

Convert this order note into a compact record: "PO-84: 3 packs of filters at 7 units per pack; delivery requested for Friday, not confirmed." Return order ID, pack count, units per pack, total units and delivery status as labelled lines. Retain the distinction between requested and confirmed delivery.

Expected result

Five labelled fields with total units calculated from the supplied counts and delivery marked requested, unconfirmed.

Check the result

Check the total equals packs times units per pack and Friday is not described as confirmed.

Rates in USD per 1K tokens. If no rate is set, the base rate for this method is inherited; «—» means no base rate is set.

Ailoot reserves an estimated amount before a request. After the result, it settles the final charge from measured usage. Streaming settlement uses the final usage record. How reservation and settlement work →

Reference tariff details

Model-level reference schedules do not change method selection, quotes or charges. Active charges use the selected Ailoot method rates.
