About the model
This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.
Coding with continued work
GPT-6 Sol is an OpenAI model for complex coding and multi-step tasks with tools. It accepts text and images and returns text. The model is designed for work in which an individual response can become an action, and that action's result the next step toward a solution.
Its capabilities include streaming, structured output and function calling. This allows the required result form to be selected: an explanation, prepared text or data with a predefined structure. When a task needs an external action, the model uses the supplied set of tools.
Reasoning and the selected format
none, low, medium, high, xhigh and max can be set; medium is the default. none means processing without reasoning. Other levels specify solution effort, while final-response length and style are determined separately.
Separately from reasoning effort, the manufacturer provides ordinary and extended execution modes. Ordinary mode is selected by default. Extended mode performs additional work on a difficult task and may require more time and tokens. Mode specifies the processing approach, while effort specifies analytical depth within it. Mode selection is provided for Responses and requires appropriate application support; its availability in Ailoot's current method is not separately confirmed.
Responses is intended for reasoning with tools. In Chat Completions, function calling is supported only at none. This is a significant characteristic of the particular model: format and mode selection determine whether reasoning and actions can be combined in one workflow.
Material and capacity limits
The manufacturer's context window is 1,050,000 tokens. Maximum input is 922,000 and maximum output 128,000 tokens. The knowledge snapshot is dated April 20, 2026. Images are input material; Sol's direct result remains text.
A large request needs to account for source material and history. Internal reasoning also occupies the output budget, so the output limit cannot be interpreted as a promise of equally long visible text. Long-context support helps retain task material in one working space.
Code, search and connected functions
OpenAI lists web and file search, code and command execution, file changes, computer actions and tool search. The model can use these functions for sequential project work and incorporate their results when preparing the next step.
With appropriate connections, the manufacturer also provides a separate image-generation tool, work with skills and external tools through MCP. The model's direct response remains text; a separate tool creates the image-generation result. Its availability with the manufacturer does not mean these capabilities are connected in every Ailoot method.
For custom functions, the application receives the selected action and arguments, executes it and passes the result to the model. Supporting this exchange does not mean every tool is already connected. Functions in a specific request depend on the selected method and provided capabilities.
Repeated portions of a request's beginning support caching. Structured output specifies data form through a JSON schema; conformity to form does not replace content verification. Extended tasks provide ways to retain useful state and shorten accumulated context.
Practical task
Patch a pagination termination bug
Technical example in English
Patch a pagination termination bug
A paginator requests pages with a cursor. Its loop stops only when items is empty, but the service can return a nonempty final page with next_cursor absent. Draft corrected pseudocode preserving every returned item exactly once. Include checks for an empty first page, a full final page without a cursor and two pages with distinct cursors.Expected result
Corrected pagination pseudocode and three behavior checks against the stated response cases.Check the result
The loop processes the final nonempty page before stopping on its absent next cursor.Ailoot · Anthropic Messages POST /v1/messages gpt-6-sol

Rates in USD per 1K tokens. If no rate is set, the base rate for this method is inherited; «—» means no base rate is set.
Ailoot reserves an estimated amount before a request. After the result, it settles the final charge from measured usage. Streaming settlement uses the final usage record. How reservation and settlement work →
