WizardLM-2 8x22B

WizardLM-2 8x22B is the WizardLM team’s large instruction-tuned edition for complex conversation, writing, code and reasoning. Its producer describes multilingual tasks, progressive synthetic-data training and a Vicuna-style multi-turn prompt format.

About the model

This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.

WizardLM-2 8x22B is the WizardLM team’s large edition for complex conversation, multilingual work, reasoning and agent-oriented tasks. It is distinct from the family’s 70B and 7B versions. Written instructions produce textual answers, explanations or code.

The producer analyzes source data, adjusts sampling and trains progressively on successive data partitions. Evol-Instruct creates varied, demanding instructions, and Evol-Answer improves responses through generation and rewriting. Co-teaching and self-teaching contribute further training material. Supervised learning, staged preference optimization and reinforcement learning then develop the released model’s instruction-following behavior.

Usage guidance specifies a Vicuna-style prompt with an initial assistant role and explicit user and assistant turns. The release supports multi-turn conversation. Prepare the task with the desired behavior, the relevant material and the form of the answer. Later turns can supply a correction or a new constraint while keeping the exchange clear.

For a writing assignment, give the audience, the subject and the facts that the draft must retain. For code review, supply the implementation, the expected behavior and a case that exposes the problem; request a proposed correction and checks for it. For a mathematical or analytical question, provide the premises and ask for the conclusion with the steps needed to assess it. These are practical ways to use the release’s documented writing, coding and reasoning domains.

In an agent-oriented application, return new observations from the surrounding tools as conversation evidence before asking for the next step. A useful result is a change proposal, an explanation or a clear instruction for the application to evaluate. The manufacturer’s conversational release description supplies the instruction-following model; access to external information and execution of actions belong to the application around it.

Practical task

Reconcile multilingual event details

Technical example in English

Reconcile multilingual event details

Draft a bilingual English-Spanish event note using these fixed details: workshop on 12 June at 14:00; venue Room B; participants bring a laptop; registration closes 5 June. Provide one short paragraph in each language, preserving the dates, time and room identifier. Finish with a checklist showing which fixed details appear in both versions.

Expected result

Parallel English and Spanish paragraphs plus a four-item detail-preservation checklist.

Check the result

Check neither language changes the workshop date, registration deadline, time or room name.
