MiniMax-M2.1-highspeed

A faster M2.1 variant for coding and refactoring with the same core model capabilities.

About the model

This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.

Interactive work with code

MiniMax M2.1-highspeed is a faster M2.1 variant. According to MiniMax, it retains the base model's core capabilities and produces text more quickly. It is intended for development across languages, code generation and precise refactoring when work consists of several short iterations with feedback.

The model helps create and change full-stack applications: web, backends, Android and iOS mobile applications, and simulations. It can be assigned to prepare checks, analyze review feedback and find opportunities to speed up a program. As in M2.1, following requirements throughout a long task is an important part of the work.

From text to the next action

With tools connected, highspeed can participate in a sequence of plan, action, result and refinement. It receives function definitions, proposes calls and uses returned information when continuing its answer. Uses include engineering tasks and sequential office workflows. Commands, search and file writes themselves are performed by the connected environment.

Speed and long context

The stated context is 204,800 tokens. This allows the model to receive requirements text, code and an extended conversation history. The base M2.1 architecture contains 230 billion parameters, of which 10 billion are activated during processing.

According to MiniMax, the output-speed target for this version is around 100 tokens per second. This is a text-generation measure: total task duration also depends on response length and tool execution time. Input and the main response in this card are text; a finished document or running program requires separate execution in the application.

Practical task

Refactor duplicate formatting code

Technical example in English

Refactor duplicate formatting code

Refactor these Python snippets without changing output: invoice_label(n) returns 'INV-' + str(n).zfill(6); credit_label(n) returns 'CRN-' + str(n).zfill(6). Introduce one shared helper and retain both public functions. Provide examples for 7 and 1234567, plus a test showing the longer number is not truncated. Do not add dependencies.

Expected result

A small refactor retaining both function names and exact prefixes, with boundary examples and a nontruncation test.

Check the result

Outputs remain INV-000007 and CRN-000007 for 7, and numbers longer than six digits remain complete.
