MiniMax: I2V 01
I2V 01 animates a supplied first-frame image, with an optional text brief describing the action. Prepare the opening composition, direct the visible motion and review the completed clip for subject continuity and framing.
About the model
This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.
I2V 01 is MiniMax’s image-to-video edition for developing motion from a supplied first frame. The image establishes the subject and opening composition; an optional written prompt describes the action to follow. Use it when the starting visual already exists as a photograph, generated image or prepared scene and the task is to turn that visual into a short video sequence.
Choose the first frame for the motion you want to show. A product image should reveal the shape and surfaces that need to remain recognizable. A portrait should show the face clearly and leave enough space for the requested gesture. For an environment, identify the element that carries the movement, such as leaves, water or a person crossing the scene. Prepare the composition before generation so the action has a useful starting point.
The maker’s image requirements are JPG, JPEG, PNG or WebP, below 20 MB, with the shorter side greater than 300 pixels. The accepted aspect ratio runs from 2:5 to 5:2. The first frame can be supplied through an accessible image URL or encoded image data in the maker’s workflow. Keep the actual image file with the request record so the visual starting point is preserved for later comparison.
Use the text description to state visible motion, its pace and the intended closing state. For example, a ceramic cup on a table might remain in place while steam rises and the background curtain moves slightly. A person might turn toward a window and stop. Give the subject one readable action and explain which features should stay in view throughout it.
The prompt allows up to 2,000 characters. Write the useful details in a natural sequence: subject, action, setting and viewpoint. When the image already establishes the scene, use the text to clarify the movement rather than restating every visible object. A concise instruction about the direction and extent of a gesture can be more useful than several broad adjectives about cinematic quality.
The maker’s legacy image-to-video table lists 720P as the default for I2V 01 and does not list a ten-second option for this edition. Keep the chosen output settings attached to the clip and assess the actual timing of the result. Prepare a shot whose main action can be understood as one short sequence, with an opening and closing state that are useful for the intended edit.
Automatic prompt optimization is enabled by default in the documented maker workflow. Record whether it is used when comparing a revision. Keep the image constant when testing a different action description, or keep the description constant when comparing a different opening composition. This makes it easier to see which creative change affected the result.
Review the completed video from beginning to end. Check whether the subject remains recognizable, whether the movement respects the visible structure of the source and whether the important detail stays in frame. For a product scene, inspect edges and material appearance during motion; for a portrait, inspect face and gesture continuity. Save the actual clip with its source image and prompt, then revise the specific motion or framing problem that remains.

How the final charge is calculated
The displayed rates estimate the cost before generation. The final charge is calculated from the cost recorded for the original generation. Measured output duration and forecast quantities are not the final billable quantity.
