About the model
This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.
Nex-N2.5-mini is Nex AGI’s small multimodal edition in the Nex-N2.5 agent family. Alongside Pro, it builds on the multimodal foundations of Nex-N2 with improvements in computer use, web browsing and visually grounded task execution. The producer treats visual feedback as part of how an agent checks its progress, not only as material for a one-off image description.
Observe, act and check
Prepare an agent task with the user’s goal, the relevant screen or source information and a clear completion criterion. Identify which actions are allowed and what observation would establish success. An illustrative brief is: “Use the supplied screenshot to identify the controls needed for this change, explain the next operation and check the returned state against the goal.”
The model can interpret the visual state and propose a function or operation. The surrounding application performs that action and returns the next screenshot or other result. A proposed click or generated code remains a text result until the application executes it. Use the actual observation to decide whether to continue or correct the plan.
Three thinking modes
The producer template uses reasoning_effort to select its behaviour. None gives a direct answer without a reasoning trace. Medium is the adaptive default, letting the model choose whether and how much to think. High always enables thinking before responding. The maker recommends temperature 0.7, top-p 0.95 and top-k 40 for the reference profile.
State the required answer form separately from the mode, such as a short explanation, a source-backed list or the next proposed operation. The template’s reasoning-effort control should not be silently replaced with a different model’s thinking flag. Preserve the distinction between intermediate analysis and the final content.
Functions and useful results
Nex-series models document function calling with supplied tool definitions and a parser that extracts calls into structured content. Define each function’s purpose and parameters, and preserve its returned observation in the task context. A continuing browser or program task should use those actual results to maintain progress and self-correct.
Mini’s documented role remains multimodal, separate from the family’s text-only Max edition. For a knowledge task, supply the relevant passages; for a program task, supply the implementation and expected behaviour. Keep file and source labels so the final artifact can refer back to its evidence.
Preparing a long task
Budget the available source, visual representation, conversation, reasoning and tool returns together. Keep the latest meaningful observations and the outcome required by the user visible through the workflow. Do not equate an extensive action plan with a completed result; the final handoff should distinguish proposals from operations for which a result was returned.
The useful output is a text explanation, code proposal or sequence of actions grounded in the observations supplied by the application. Review visual details against the screenshot and source-sensitive claims against authoritative material. Mini retains its exact named edition and reasoning modes without inheriting the Max model’s parameter count or an undocumented universal output ceiling.
Practical task
Choose the next interface step
Technical example in English
Choose the next interface step
A user wants to enable weekly reports. Supplied interface state: the Reports page shows a Weekly reports checkbox unchecked, a disabled Save button and an unsaved-changes indicator absent. Describe the next proposed interaction, the expected state after it and what must be observed before claiming the setting is saved. Use only this textual state description.Expected result
A short proposed-action sequence with an expected intermediate state and a separate saved-state verification criterion.Check the result
Check that the answer does not claim the setting is saved merely because the checkbox was selected.Ailoot Ultra · OpenAI Chat POST /v1/chat/completions nex-agi/nex-n2.5-mini
