About the model
This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.
o1-pro is OpenAI’s separate o1 edition that uses additional computation for complex reasoning. The o1 family is trained with reinforcement learning to work through a problem before answering. The Pro model accepts text and images and produces text. Its identity is separate from standard o1 and from the Pro execution modes documented for later GPT families.
An illustrative task is analyzing requirements whose conditions depend on one another. Supply the question, the relevant material and the criteria governing the decision. Request an explanation of the relationships and a concrete recommendation with its conditions stated. For a code question, include the intended behavior and related implementation; for a mathematical problem, provide the definitions, domain and form required for the result.
Visual material can supply a diagram, interface state or other evidence for the question. Identify the relevant detail and include the written context needed to interpret it. A useful input brief separates the source information from the instructions and defines the artifact the reader needs: a technical explanation, proposed solution, comparison or plan. This connects the model’s additional analysis to the actual purpose of the task.
OpenAI lists a 200,000-token context window, a maximum output of 100,000 tokens and a knowledge cutoff of October 1, 2023. Reasoning uses space alongside the input and visible answer. The maker documents o1-pro through Responses, supporting multi-turn model interactions before the final response; Batch is also listed in the model specification. These are the Pro model’s producer characteristics rather than the settings of another o1 edition.
The native card confirms that streaming is not supported, while function calling, Structured Outputs and image input are supported. Its exact listed tool set includes functions, file search and MCP connections. An application exposes its operations, executes its actions and returns actual results. A structured final response defines the form of the output, while a function request proposes an operation for the working environment.
State how the task should be completed and checked. For analysis, ask for the conclusion, the evidence it relies on and unresolved conditions to remain distinguishable. For a proposed change, specify the expected behavior and request the checks actually performed to be separated from those still needed. A useful final artifact makes the significant choices explicit and connects them to the original question and supplied material.
Practical task
Check an interdependent staffing plan
Technical example in English
Check an interdependent staffing plan
Two rooms need a facilitator from 09:00 to 10:00. Ada can facilitate either room. Ben can facilitate only room A. Cara can cover room B but arrives at 09:30. Each room needs continuous coverage, and nobody can cover both at once. Find a feasible assignment or identify the blocking condition and the smallest staffing change needed.Expected result
A feasibility conclusion with a time-based assignment or a precise blocking interval and proposed change.Check the result
The reasoning checks the full 09:00–09:30 interval rather than treating Cara as available from 09:00.Ailoot Ultra · OpenAI Chat POST /v1/chat/completions openai/o1-pro
