About the model
This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.
Qwen2.5-32B-Instruct is the instruction-tuned 32B-size text model in the general Qwen2.5 family. It combines language understanding and generation with coding and mathematics, rather than being the separately named Coder or Math specialist. The maker particularly highlights detailed instruction following, long-form writing, understanding tables and producing structured text, especially JSON. The family is pretrained on a corpus described as reaching 18 trillion tokens.
Structured data, long answers and multilingual work
A useful extraction task supplies a source passage and the exact fields needed by the next application step. Define the field types, whether the wording must be copied or summarized, and how to represent absent information. For example, a product record can ask for an identifier, operating conditions and a list of unresolved questions. Request the JSON record alone when it must be parsed, or request a separate explanation when a person needs to inspect the reasoning behind the extracted fields.
Table understanding is another documented focus. Supply the column names, units and relevant rows with the question. Ask the model to identify the rows that meet a condition, explain a change between periods or turn a table into a written report. A practical output can retain each row's identifier beside the finding. This preserves the connection between the supplied data and the answer instead of producing a summary with no traceable source row.
For long-form writing, name the audience, sections and source facts before requesting the document. A technical proposal might require a problem statement, requirements, alternatives and a recommendation using only the supplied material. Specify which conditions are mandatory and which are questions to resolve. The maker also develops robustness across different system prompts, supporting a defined role, tone and conversation conditions.
The family supports more than 29 languages, including English, Chinese, Russian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai and Arabic. For a multilingual task, distinguish the source language from the required output language and provide a terminology list when names or technical terms must remain consistent. A bilingual report can ask for the same source facts in two versions while keeping identifiers and units unchanged.
This edition's model details
The 32B-Instruct release has 32.5 billion parameters, with 31.0 billion non-embedding parameters, and 64 Transformer layers. It uses rotary positional embeddings, SwiGLU, RMSNorm and attention QKV bias. Grouped-query attention uses 40 query heads and 8 key/value heads. This is a dense, decoder-only language-model release with pretraining and post-training; Instruct identifies the conversationally trained edition rather than the base model.
The card states a full context of 131,072 tokens and generation up to 8,192 tokens. These figures describe different parts of a task: the context retains the prompt and conversation, while the generation figure bounds the written answer. The quick-start's 512 generated tokens are merely an example within that larger stated generation limit. The model accepts and returns text; a scanned table or screenshot needs its content made available as text or a separate visual model.
Conversation and tools
The model card demonstrates separate system and user messages formatted with the matching chat template. Put the assistant's durable response rules in the appropriate conversation role, and place the actual document, table or code with the user's task. Mark the boundary between quoted source material and instructions so that an instruction appearing inside a document is not mistaken for the application's intended task.
The official family announcement documents tool-calling support through compatible conversation templates and serving integrations. In such a workflow, the application supplies the function descriptions, receives the proposed call, executes the function and returns its result. This can connect a textual question to a calculation or a data lookup, but choosing this model alone does not supply the external tool or its data. JSON generation and a tool call are also different results: one formats text, while the other asks the surrounding application to perform a named operation.
Long-context preparation
The released configuration starts at 32,768 tokens. Inputs beyond that setting require the documented YaRN extension, whose example uses a factor of 4.0 and an original maximum-position setting of 32,768. The maker warns that static scaling can affect shorter-text behavior and recommends enabling it when long-context processing is needed.
For a large-document comparison, identify the role of each document and ask for one well-defined artifact: a requirements matrix, a discrepancy list or a revised section. Keep source locations beside extracted findings and allow enough answer space for the requested structure. Long-context capacity helps keep the relevant material together; it does not replace the need to define what should be compared or how the final result will be used.
Practical task
Explain a stock table
Technical example in English
Explain a stock table
Analyze this text table: SKU | opening units | received units | shipped units. A1 | 20 | 10 | 18. B2 | 7 | 0 | 9. Calculate closing stock for each SKU, identify any impossible negative balance and draft a short note naming the row that needs investigation. Preserve column units.Expected result
A closing-stock table with row IDs and a short anomaly note supported by the source values.Check the result
Recalculate opening plus received minus shipped and verify the B2 discrepancy is flagged rather than corrected.Ailoot Ultra · OpenAI Chat POST /v1/chat/completions Qwen/Qwen2.5-32B-Instruct
