Qwen: Qwen3 235B A22B Thinking 2507
Qwen3-235B-A22B-Thinking-2507 is Qwen’s reasoning-only text model for demanding mathematics, science, coding and long-document analysis. Its native 262,144-token context and extended reasoning make it suitable for problems that need several connected steps.

About the model
This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.
Qwen3-235B-A22B-Thinking-2507 develops the reasoning branch of Qwen3 for complex logical, mathematical, scientific and programming tasks. Qwen also identifies instruction following, tool use, text generation and long-context comprehension as areas improved in this edition. It accepts text conversations and generates text. A useful brief gives it the complete problem, relevant evidence, constraints and the precise form of the final deliverable: a proof, an implementation plan, a corrected program or a decision supported by supplied documents.
The model uses a mixture-of-experts architecture with 235 billion total parameters and 22 billion activated for each token. Its native context is 262,144 tokens. That space is useful for bringing several related specifications, source files or research extracts into one conversation, while leaving room for the model’s reasoning and final answer. Label documents and code blocks, state which sources take precedence and point to the sections that matter. For example, a software-analysis brief can supply the failing behaviour, expected behaviour, relevant functions and constraints, then request a proposed correction with the assumptions listed separately.
This is a thinking-only edition. It does not switch into the original Qwen3 model’s non-thinking mode. The official chat template starts the reasoning section automatically, and an output can therefore contain a closing </think> marker without an opening marker in the generated text. The producer’s example separates that reasoning section from the final answer. For a mathematical task, Qwen recommends asking for step-by-step reasoning and a final answer inside \boxed{}. For a multiple-choice task, it suggests an answer field containing only the selected letter. These instructions help make the result easier to read or consume after reasoning has finished.
Qwen’s generation guidance recommends temperature 0.6, top-p 0.95, top-k 20 and min-p 0. It recommends a 32,768-token output allowance for most queries and describes an 81,920-token allowance for exceptionally demanding mathematical and programming problems. Those figures are producer recommendations for generation, rather than a separate guaranteed response limit. Longer reasoning needs space before the final answer: an overly small allowance can end the response before the requested conclusion. In subsequent conversation turns, the official guidance keeps the final answer in the history and omits the earlier thinking content.
For agent-style work, Qwen recommends Qwen-Agent, which supplies tool-call templates and parsing. Its examples combine defined tools such as information retrieval and a code interpreter with the model’s conversation. Prepare the available tool descriptions, the task’s stopping condition and the required result before asking it to plan tool use. A practical research brief might ask it to gather specified evidence, compare competing explanations and return a conclusion with the evidence organised by source. Tool calls describe work for an application to execute; the model’s text alone is not the external action or its result.
The official card also describes an optional context extension to approximately one million tokens using a separate configuration, Dual Chunk Attention and sparse attention. This is distinct from the native 262,144-token window and depends on the prescribed implementation and substantial memory resources. The producer warns that context and memory constraints can require shorter sequences. For ordinary long-document work, organise the input around the actual question, preserve document boundaries and request a concise final synthesis with unresolved evidence identified. This keeps the useful result separate from the potentially lengthy reasoning process.
Practical task
Check a constrained allocation
Technical example in English
Check a constrained allocation
Allocate 17 identical work units to two teams. Team A must receive at least 6 and an even number; Team B must receive at least 5. Minimize the difference between team totals. List the valid allocations nearest equality, select the best and explain why no smaller difference is possible under the parity rule.Expected result
A compact allocation analysis with feasible candidates, selected totals and a checkable optimality argument.Check the result
Verify the totals sum to 17, A is even, both minimums hold and the comparison includes both sides of equality.Ailoot Ultra · OpenAI Chat POST /v1/chat/completions qwen/qwen3-235b-a22b-thinking-2507
