Qwen3 Omni 30B A3B Instruct

Qwen3-Omni-30B-A3B-Instruct understands text, images, audio and video and can answer with text and natural speech. Its Thinker–Talker architecture supports multimodal dialogue, with explicit control over whether speech is returned and which documented voice is used.

About the model

This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.

Qwen3-Omni-30B-A3B-Instruct is the instruction-following, speech-generating member of Qwen3-Omni. It understands text, images, audio and video, including mixed inputs, and can return both text and natural speech. Qwen describes the family architecture as supporting streamed text and speech responses. The exact Instruct checkpoint contains Thinker and Talker components: understanding and textual response formation are connected to the speech-generation path. The Thinking and Captioner checkpoints have different component and output roles, so they remain separate model choices.

The family’s published multilingual scope includes 119 text languages, 19 speech-input languages and 10 speech-output languages. Russian is present in both speech lists. The manufacturer describes a mixture-of-experts Thinker–Talker design, with audio and vision processing for multimodal understanding and multi-codebook speech generation. System prompts can shape the assistant’s role and response style. A suitable task is a voiced explanation that depends on a visible object and a user’s spoken question, rather than an unrelated text-to-speech conversion.

The cookbooks cover speech recognition, speech translation, music and sound analysis, mixed audio, image questions, OCR, object grounding, video description and audio-visual dialogue. For a training assistant, provide a demonstration clip and ask it to explain the visible procedure for a novice. For a product question, combine a photo with the spoken request and identify the detail to discuss. State the intended listener and the desired result: a short spoken answer, a text summary or both. Retain source names and measurements that must stay unchanged.

The maker’s input flow uses the matching processor, chat template and media-processing utilities. Media may be interleaved with text, and decoding is an explicit part of preparing a request. When using a video’s accompanying audio, keep use_audio_in_video consistent across preprocessing, generation and successive dialogue rounds. An audio-visual question requires the sound track to be included; a visual-only task should state that scope clearly. Select a relevant clip and use readable images so the assistant receives the details needed for the question.

Speech output is controllable. The published generation interface can request text only with return_audio=False, and disabling Talker removes that component from the loaded model’s speech-output path. The maker’s batch example returns text rather than audio. The Instruct checkpoint documents three voice choices—Ethan, Chelsie and Aiden—with Ethan as the default. The example saves a waveform at 24,000 Hz. Voice selection and this example’s output format describe the published model workflow, not every possible surrounding service interface.

For spoken responses, the manufacturer recommends a conversational style that is easy to vocalize rather than complicated formatting. A request can ask for a concise explanation in the listener’s language, while retaining a separate readable text result for review. If the source contains a name, formula or unfamiliar abbreviation, provide its meaning and the preferred wording. Ask the answer to distinguish observed content from assumptions so a fluent voice does not make uncertainty disappear.

The Thinker and Talker text configurations set max_position_embeddings to 65,536. The shared card’s vLLM examples separately choose a 32,768-token model-length setting and a 16,384-token generation setting; these remain examples, not independent universal caps. Visual and audio processing affects the effective request size. Interface support also differs: the card’s Transformers example can return speech, while its serving discussion describes a Thinker-oriented path and separate video/audio handling. Keep model-level speech capabilities distinct from a particular runtime’s supported output path.

A useful result combines the answer with the source material needed to review it. For a demonstration, check the described action against the clip; for an audio question, compare the answer with the audible words or sounds; for a visual calculation, verify units and labels. The family includes an audio-function-call cookbook, but an application still defines and executes any external tool action. A generated request to act is different from a confirmed result. This edition’s strength is multimodal interaction with an optional spoken response, while factual verification, downstream actions and media editing require their own evidence and workflow.

Practical task

Explain a supplied procedure to a novice

Technical example in English

Explain a supplied procedure to a novice

Write a text-only explanation for a novice using this supplied procedure: turn the dial to zero; insert the sample tray until it clicks; close the cover; press Start once; wait for the green completion light before opening. Keep the sequence and stopping condition exact. Use short conversational sentences and explain only what the supplied procedure establishes.

Expected result

A concise, easy-to-read textual procedure with the original action order and completion condition.

Check the result

Check opening the cover is never instructed before the green completion light.
