About the model
This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.
Llama 3 8B Lunaris v1 is Sao10K’s generalist and roleplay-oriented text model merge. The creator combines a Llama 3 8B Instruct base with models selected for roleplay, storytelling and general knowledge. Its purpose is to balance creative text with conversational and logical behavior, as described in the creator’s release note.
The published recipe uses a TIES merge rather than a new from-scratch training run. Component weights and densities are chosen through the creator’s experiments, with rescaling enabled in the recipe. The result remains its own Lunaris edition, distinct from Stheno v3.2 and from the individual components included in the merge.
The model’s configuration has 32 Transformer layers, 32 query attention heads and eight key/value heads. It sets 8192 maximum positions and no rotary scaling. Keep the task, persona and relevant conversation within the context used for generation, leaving room for the reply. A shorter scene brief can retain the necessary background without repeatedly including the entire earlier narrative.
Sao10K recommends Llama 3 Instruct formatting, temperature 1.4 and minimum-probability sampling of 0.1 for the creator’s setup. A useful system instruction defines the character’s voice or the assistant’s role. The user’s message then supplies the current situation, question or contribution to the dialogue.
For a character exchange, state who is speaking, what they want and which event the next reply should respond to. Request one contribution with a clear ending so the user can decide what happens next. For a story revision, supply the passage and identify the tone, pacing or detail to change while preserving the established action.
For a general written question, include the information needed for the answer and the requested form of the result. Review the generated draft against that instruction and the facts supplied in the prompt. The creator’s account of the merge is an intended balance of component behavior, rather than a measured guarantee that every response improves on each source model.
Practical task
A guarded stationmaster reply
Technical example in English
A guarded stationmaster reply
Play Orin, a stationmaster who hides nervousness behind precise manners. A traveler asks, 'Why is the midnight train missing from the board?' Established facts: the train is delayed; Orin knows no arrival time. Write two brief in-character lines with a small action between them. Leave the traveler's reaction and next choice to the reader.Expected result
Two lines from Orin with one action beat and an open ending for the traveler.Check the result
Check the response preserves the unknown arrival time and never controls the traveler.Ailoot Ultra · OpenAI Chat POST /v1/chat/completions sao10k/l3-lunaris-8b
