About the model
This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.
Grok Build 0.1 is the producer’s coding-focused Grok model for agentic software, engineering and workflow tasks. It accepts written material and images and generates text, including code and structured results. The model card specifies a 256,000-token context window and lists reasoning, function calling and structured outputs as capabilities.
For a software task, provide the intended behavior, the relevant implementation and the observed failure or requested change. Identify the interfaces and dependencies that must remain compatible. A useful result can be a proposed patch, an explanation of the cause and the checks needed to assess the change. Keep the source material and the requested output focused on the defined task.
Image input can add visual evidence to an engineering or interface assignment. Supply the image with a question tied to a visible feature, and include any written specification needed to interpret it. For example, a screenshot can support a description of an interface problem, while source code and observed behavior establish how the application implements it.
Function calling connects the model’s proposed step with an application tool. Define the function and its arguments, let the model request the call, execute it in the application and return the actual result. The producer distinguishes that client-executed path from its server-side tools. Preserve the call and its result together so a follow-up proceeds from the observation rather than assuming that the proposed command succeeded.
Structured outputs can organize an extraction or report around defined fields. Supply the desired schema and the task’s meaning, then inspect the returned artifact for the information it contains. The producer supports a practical subset of JSON Schema; some complex or oversized constraints are handled on a best-effort basis. A format check is therefore distinct from checking that the extracted facts or proposed code are correct.
For a reasoning task, state the required conclusion and the conditions it must satisfy. Its producer card also marks batch processing unsupported for this model. Request a final artifact that identifies the proposed change, the evidence used and the remaining condition to check. This keeps the coding model’s output connected to the application’s actual development task.
Practical task
Patch an unsafe retry counter
Technical example in English
Patch an unsafe retry counter
Fix this pseudocode: attempts=0; while attempts < 3: try send(); on success return; on failure continue; attempts += 1. It can retry forever. Provide a corrected bounded loop that attempts send at most three times, stops on success and reports failure after exhaustion. Include test scenarios for immediate success and three failures, without claiming actual sends.Expected result
Corrected framework-neutral pseudocode plus two tests with expected attempt counts and terminal outcomes.Check the result
The failure path increments the counter, total attempts never exceed three, and success terminates immediately.Ailoot Ultra · OpenAI Chat POST /v1/chat/completions x-ai/grok-build-0.1
