Z.ai: GLM 4.5 Air

GLM 4.5 Air is Z.ai’s compact mixture-of-experts variant for agent-centric text tasks. Its model profile lists a 128,000-token context window.

About the model

This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.

GLM 4.5 Air is the compact variant in Z.ai’s GLM 4.5 family, built for agent-centric applications. It uses a mixture-of-experts architecture with a smaller parameter configuration than the main family profile. Text is the input and output. The current model profile lists a 128,000-token context window.

A focused task and its source material

Supply the passage, code or record needed to answer the current question. State the result required and the conditions that would make it useful. A support brief can retain the customer’s actual request and relevant information; a coding brief can identify the observed behavior and intended correction.

Keep source identifiers with findings. If the material is incomplete or contains conflicting statements, make that visible in the requested answer. A concise result remains useful when it retains the evidence needed to inspect it.

Application actions provide actual observations

When the application performs an operation, return its actual result as text before using it in a later decision. Preserve command output, retrieved passages or file observations with the action that produced them.

For a multi-step task, distinguish completed work from the next proposed action. A later turn can then continue from what has been observed rather than from an assumed outcome. Keep the final objective visible while intermediate artifacts are added.

Context and a clear handoff

Reserve room for the response and retain material relevant to the current task. A useful Air result is a text answer, code proposal or next action tied to its source evidence. Preserve the result and remaining question in a compact working state so the following step can continue without reconstructing the entire conversation.

Practical task

A source-grounded support handoff

Technical example in English

A source-grounded support handoff

Create a compact handoff from these observations: order H-66 is marked delivered in the carrier record; the customer says it was not received; reception has not been contacted; no replacement is authorized. Separate the two source claims, give the next proposed check and state what remains unresolved. Do not claim a completed investigation or shipment.

Expected result

A short handoff with source-labelled claims, one next check and the unresolved delivery question.

Check the result

Carrier status and customer report remain distinct, and reception contact stays a proposed action.
