About the model
This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.
DeepSeek V4 Flash Vision Exp is DeepSeek’s experimental multimodal model in the V4 family. It builds on V4 Flash by adding visual modules and continued training for visual understanding. The input combines images with text and the output is text. Its documented purpose joins multimodal agent work with text-based agent tasks, making it useful when the information an assistant needs is visible in a screenshot, chart or other supplied image.
The producer reference describes a vision encoder and aligner connected with DFlash attention, mixture-of-experts components, hyper-connections and a DSpark path. The visual modules turn image information into a form the language model can use alongside the written question. This differs from the text-only V4 Flash profile cited in the card, whose comparison treats multimodal elements separately. Vision Exp is a named edition rather than an instruction to add arbitrary media support to another Flash model.
Its prompt-format reference supports interleaved image content, multi-turn conversations, tool calls and thinking modes. Non-thinking prompts can request a direct answer; thinking prompts can use a reasoning-effort setting, including the documented Max example. Images are recorded in exactly the order in which they appear in the prompt. Number or label multiple inputs and state which picture a question refers to, so a visual comparison keeps its connection to the source.
The published configuration sets max_position_embeddings to 1,048,576. That is a model-configuration position limit, not a separate maximum-output specification. Prepare a focused set of images and a precise question, while keeping the prompt, conversation and generated answer within the limits of the selected producer workflow.
For a practical interface task, supply the current screenshot, the intended user action and any relevant text specification. An illustrative brief is: “Identify the visible controls needed to change this setting. Use their displayed labels, explain the next action and state which part of the screen supports it.” For a chart, ask for the visible values and relationships separately from an inferred interpretation. If small lettering matters, supply a readable crop together with enough surrounding context to identify its role.
In an agent application, the model can propose a tool operation after interpreting the image and instruction. The surrounding application executes that operation, returns the observation and supplies the next visual state when needed. Define the tool’s purpose and the allowed actions. A proposed click, a written coordinate or generated code is still a text result until the application performs the corresponding operation; use the resulting observation as evidence for the next step.
For a source-based deliverable, ask the answer to identify the image and visible detail behind each finding. Keep extracted wording distinct from an explanation and keep a proposed action distinct from a completed one. For a screenshot-to-code assignment, add the relevant source text, the intended behaviour and the final artifact required. This model’s profile is image-and-text understanding with text output, rather than image creation, speech synthesis or an assumed video-analysis workflow.
