Gemini 3.8 Flash Lite Tts
A Google speech model for voicing text at scale, sequential lines and voice workflows in 101 languages.
About the model
This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.
Gemini 3.8 Flash-Lite TTS is designed for large numbers of speech operations: reading text, voicing sequential lines and everyday voice workflows. According to Google, its profile is low latency and efficient processing at scale.
Selecting a voice
The model supports 101 languages, including Russian. Options include 30 preset voices, an expanded library, creation of a voice identity and reproduction of a voice from a sample. The voice, style and spoken line itself are specified separately, so text to be voiced does not need to be mixed with a description of the reading style.
Flash-Lite uses the same speech-control format as Gemini 3.8 Flash TTS. In dialogue, lines belong to specific speakers. The number of preset voices in one multi-voice request is limited to two; voices created from a description or sample are used in separate speech lines.
What is supplied as input
Input is text of up to 8192 tokens, and output is audio limited to 16,384 tokens. Delivery settings control the performance style, while short vocal events and pauses are specified with special audio tags inside the text. This is speech synthesis from a specified line, not generation of a text answer to a question.
Formats and processing
For an ordinary response, WAV is used by default. The default streaming format is headerless PCM. Original audio parameters are 24 kHz, one channel and 16 bits. The manufacturer also provides PCM, mu-law and A-law. Context caching and batch processing are supported. Audio format capabilities need to be considered separately from the actual way the selected speech method delivers a file.
Model boundaries
This version does not declare Thinking, function calling, code execution, file search, search grounding, Google Maps, structured text responses, image creation or use of URL contents. Its purpose is to voice prepared material quickly.
A low-latency design target does not set a completion deadline for every request. Language coverage, voice-selection methods and delivery control describe the model's own capabilities and do not mean that all settings are automatically available in every speech method.

Keep all completed results
Keep every complete returned response, file and content part.
A single output defaults to native audio bytes with actualContent-Type; response_format=json or multiple outputs returns all owned links. No requested MP3/Opus/AAC/FLAC/PCM conversion or SSE.
If the original response needs checking
Retain original operation_id/X-Client-Request-ID for reconciliation without resubmission; no dedicated audio poll route.
