About the model
This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.
Sustained development with fast output
kimi-for-coding-highspeed denotes a faster Kimi K2.7 Code. It is intended for tasks that continue across several actions: codebase refactoring, feature implementation across different files and bug investigation in a long engineering session. According to Moonshot AI, the faster variant retains K2.7 Code's capabilities and outputs its response approximately 5–6 times faster.
The coding specialization includes backend systems, infrastructure, performance optimization, systems programming, security, user interfaces and data-processing tasks. The model is designed to follow requirements across extended context and use tool results in sequence.
Reasoning is retained between steps
Reasoning in K2.7 Code is always enabled. The model uses it between tool calls and retains it in multi-step conversation history. An immediate-answer mode without reasoning is not provided for this model. The application needs to return complete previous messages so that the next step accounts for the workflow so far.
Architecture and input
K2.7 Code is built as a mixture of experts with 1 trillion parameters in total and 32 billion active. It uses Multi-head Latent Attention and a MoonViT visual encoder. The faster variant's declared context is 262,144 tokens.
The manufacturer declares image and video understanding for K2.7 Code; the model guide designates video input as an experimental mode of a separate access method. This card provides text and images. It produces a text response and can direct connected functions. Command execution, application of edits and result verification are performed by the external environment. Fast text output affects response waiting time, but total task duration also depends on those actions.
Practical task
Remove repeated lookups in a data-processing loop
Technical example in English
Remove repeated lookups in a data-processing loop
Review this pseudocode: for each order, fetch_customer(order.customer_id), then append the customer name to its export row. Many orders share a customer, and repeated fetches dominate runtime. Propose a scoped improvement that preserves row order and handles missing customers. Give a test with three orders sharing two customer IDs; do not claim execution.Expected result
Revised pseudocode, an explanation of lookup reuse and tests for shared IDs and missing customers.Check the result
The shared-ID test requires at most one lookup per distinct customer ID and unchanged export-row order.Ailoot · Anthropic Messages POST /v1/messages kimi-for-coding-highspeed
