OpenAI: GPT-5.2 Pro (batch)
The separate GPT-5.2 Pro edition is designed for difficult professional questions and deeper analysis. It accepts text and images and develops a text response with medium, high or xhigh reasoning effort in the producer’s Responses interface.
About the model
This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.
GPT-5.2 Pro is OpenAI’s separate Pro edition for complex professional work and difficult questions. It accepts text and images and produces text. The GPT-5.2 release distinguishes Pro from the Instant chat edition and the configurable GPT-5.2 reasoning model, keeping the Pro model’s own identity and specifications.
A practical use is an analysis that depends on several linked conditions. Supply the question, the source material and the criteria governing a choice. An illustrative request is to compare possible implementations against the same requirements, identify dependencies that could change the decision and produce a recommendation whose conditions are explicit. For a document question, specify the passages to compare and the facts that must be retained.
The maker describes Pro’s role in demanding programming and scientific or mathematical questions. A technical request should therefore include the relevant definitions, known conditions and expected behavior or result. If an image contributes evidence, identify the diagram, screenshot or detail that matters. Ask for a useful artifact such as an analysis, a proposed implementation or a staged plan, rather than expecting the model to infer both the question and the result format.
OpenAI lists a 400,000-token context window, a maximum output of 128,000 tokens and a knowledge cutoff of August 31, 2025. GPT-5.2 Pro supports medium, high and xhigh reasoning effort. The context accommodates the supplied material and reasoning as well as the visible answer. For a long request, organize the evidence clearly and leave room for the requested analysis and final result.
The producer documents GPT-5.2 Pro in Responses only, to support multi-turn model interactions before the final response. Difficult requests can take several minutes, and the maker recommends background execution for long-running work. The application tracks the response identifier and status, then retrieves the result once processing reaches a terminal state. This is a producer request flow, separate from the endpoint identity of an existing card.
The exact model card lists streaming, function calling, web and file search, image input, image-generation tooling and MCP support. Applications expose their operations, execute their own actions and provide actual results for another step. Define the completion criterion and ask for the conclusion or proposed change to be connected to the source evidence. A useful final artifact makes the significant choices, their dependencies and any unresolved condition visible to the reader who will continue the work.
