ElevenLabs: Eleven Turbo v2.5

Eleven Turbo v2.5 is ElevenLabs’ multilingual text-to-speech edition for responsive voice applications. It supports 32 languages and up to 40,000 characters per API request, turning prepared replies into spoken audio in a selected voice.

About the model

This description covers the model’s capabilities. Available in Ailoot inputs, outputs and options are listed for the selected method below.

Eleven Turbo v2.5 is ElevenLabs’ multilingual text-to-speech model for interactive speech. It receives the text of a prepared utterance and produces audio in a selected voice. The manufacturer positions it for low-latency applications and conversational interfaces. Unlike English-only Turbo v2, this edition supports a multilingual script; the model does not create the application’s reply or transcribe an incoming user recording.

Its 32-language set contains the 29 languages of Multilingual v2 plus Hungarian, Norwegian and Vietnamese. The documented languages include English, Japanese, Chinese, German, Hindi, French, Korean, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, Indonesian, Dutch, Turkish, Filipino, Polish, Swedish, Bulgarian, Romanian, Arabic, Czech, Greek, Finnish, Croatian, Malay, Slovak, Danish, Tamil, Ukrainian and Russian. Prepare the wording naturally for the target language and choose a voice with the accent needed for the listener.

The producer’s complete TTS product FAQ explicitly gives Turbo v2.5 an API input ceiling of 40,000 characters. The associated approximate recording length is not an exact duration: the voice, language and speaking rate determine the length of the actual take. For a conversational response, supply a short complete thought rather than filling the available input. For longer content, divide the script into related sections and preserve the surrounding context.

ElevenLabs describes Turbo v2.5 and Flash v2.5 as functionally equivalent producer models, with lower average latency for Flash. They retain separate names and cards; the comparison does not establish one particular runtime’s weights or response time. Turbo v2.5 remains a useful named multilingual synthesis profile when a task or application records that exact edition. Its voice and text preparation should be kept with the selected result when comparing performances.

Pronunciation preparation matters most for names, reference codes, dates and abbreviated terms. Write digits individually when the listener must repeat an identifier and expand a phrase when its spoken meaning would otherwise be ambiguous. Use a consistent alternative spelling or pronunciation alias for a difficult recurring name. The dictionary guide does not list Turbo v2.5 among the models using phoneme rules, so the native IPA or phoneme features of other named editions are not transferred into this profile.

Tone and rhythm come from the text, punctuation, voice and producer voice settings. The shared product guide describes stability for consistency, similarity for resemblance and speed settings from 0.7 to 1.2 with 1.0 unchanged. The voice’s original language and cadence can affect a multilingual result. Emotional direction written as ordinary narration can itself be spoken, while v3 and v4 audio-tag control is a separate model feature. Prepare a clean spoken reply and make its intended mood clear from the wording.

The shared TTS workflow documents full speech generation and streamed audio. Its format family includes MP3, uncompressed 16-bit PCM, μ-law and A-law for telephony, and Opus. Choose a format suitable for the playback destination and retain the script next to the selected audio. Streaming concerns how generated speech is delivered; it is separate from listening to a user, detecting a turn or deciding which action an assistant should take.

For a practical multilingual assistant reply, confirm one result and state one next step. A tutorial cue can name the control the user should use and explain what happens after it is selected. Adapt that wording for each language, preserving names and the actual action rather than translating an unnatural sentence mechanically. Review a characteristic line for pronunciation, accent, intelligibility and how it follows the preceding turn. The reusable result is the speech take tied to the exact script, voice and Turbo v2.5 edition.
